I don’t actually know when this post will be going up – hopefully before Christmas if I remember! 🙂
As a celebration, my friends and me are staying up all night before Christmas Eve, watching Home Alone, and getting in the Christmas Spirit. What are your plans for the holiday season?
Christmas, for me, is a time for socialising and catching up with people who you haven’t seen in a long time. And with everything that has been going on in the world recently, I feel like that sort of love and joy is desperately needed.
So, in true spirit of trendy,youtube-esque posts, I am going to be doing the Christmas Tag! Feel free to answer along in the comments.
1. What is your favourite Christmas Film?
That’s a hard question to answer! I would have to say The Grinch. It’s such a classic for me, it’s awesome.
2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes, I have! It was quite a few years ago, but it was so fun! I remember me and my brother getting our thick coats and gloves on to go and make snowmen outside! Perfect start to a Christmas Day!
3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
I tend to spend my Christmas at home with my family. I always value the quality time I can spend with them. 🙂
4. What’s your favourite Christmas Song?
It has to be God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, but the Pentatonix version. Its incredible.
5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
I have done before, but as I grow older and get less presents, I really value the tradition of opening presents on Christmas day.
6. Can you name all of Santa’s Reindeer?
Prancer, Vixen, Blitzen, Dancer, Rudolph, Donner, Dasher, and I don’t know the other 2.:(
7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Pulling Crackers round the dinner table, whilst eating our food, is definitely one of my favourite traditions.
8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Currently, my Christmas tree is a drawn on one onto card, because I recently moved house, and have no space XD
9. What is your all-time favourite holiday food/ sweet treat?
A thing that I’ve always enjoyed eating is my mum’s special Roast Potatoes.
10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I honestly love both, but I feel like I am hard to buy for because I never really need anything, and I definitely love to see people’s reactions to my gifts.
11.What’s the best Christmas Gift you’ve ever received?
My laptop. That sounds so materialistic, but I’ve really needed it for my College work, and it’s been a real help.
12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Probably Finland or Iceland. They’re really gorgeous places and I would love to visit there!
13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I can’t say that I’m the best at wrapping presents, but I think I’m pretty good.
14. Most memorable Holiday moment?
My most memorable holiday moment actually happens every year. It’s sitting round the table eating and pulling crackers, simply enjoying each others’ company. It’s the family time we all desperately need, and it makes me so happy.
15. What made you realise the truth about Santa?
What truth? 😉 I’m only joking! I honestly dont know what made me realise or what age I was, I’ve just known ever since I could remember. Is that boring? Haha!
16. Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I don’t necessarily give myself new targets for the year I just aim to improve on what and how I did last year. I’m very general. The New Year is more about a celebration of getting through the previous year, rather than looking forward to the next one. I feel like a bit of nostalgia does me the world of good.
17. What makes the holidays special for you?
I definitely think it’s just the closeness between me and my friends and family. It’s a good time where everyone can get together, without the constraints of work, or school.
And that’s it!
I hope you all enjoyed reading my answers! – sorry that this post was not like my usual stuff, if you have any suggestions for future posts either leave them in the comments below, or tweet me @alexhughespages !
